A barbeque was held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church this past Saturday, May 17th to raise money for C.R.O.S.S. Ministries (Christians Reaching Out Serving Seymour). The event was sponsored by area churches, including Bethel United Methodist Church, Eusebia Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church of Seymour, Grace Baptist Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Holy Family Catholic Church, Maranatha Church, Providence Baptist Church, St. Paul Church – Nondenominational, Seymour Heights Christian Church, Seymour United Methodist Church, Shiloh Baptist Church and Valley Grove Baptist Church. In addition, Olde City Italian Eatery supplied food and The Herald Newspapers and Tennessee Graphics supplied the flyers, tickets and banner. “It was a successful day,” stated Linda Hemple. “People have been coming and going all day.”
The barbecue served around two hundred plates of savory lunches and raised a bit over one thousand dollars for the charity, which works in the Seymour area to help needy families.
