Woman charged with theft and forgery

Nellie Williams (alias) is accused of forging checks belonging to two different individuals and cashed them at various businesses throughout Sevierville. Two handbags were stolen without the owner’s knowledge or consent from two restaurants in Sevierville, one from the Red Lobster Restaurant and the second from the Golden Corral. Williams was charged with eight counts of forgery and two counts of theft of under $500. The checks were allegedly written to Tommy Hilfiger’s for $577.94, Lowe’s for $272.66, Golden Corral for $87.44, and four were written to Wal-Mart in Sevierville for $242.51, $243.31, $323.72, and $244.29. Her bail was set at $20,000.
