Two local homes destroyed in fires

Firefighters from the Sevierville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call at 1511 South Delozier Road on Thursday, April 24 at about 10:20 a.m. to a mobile home fire. The SVFD, responding with five units, had the fire contained within fifteen minutes, but the structure was a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported, though the trailer was home to a family of four. The Sevier County Police Department and the Sevier County Ambulance Service was also at the scene. The Sevierville Fire Department also responded to an early morning fire on Friday, April 25.  When firefighters arrived at 838 East Casey Drive at approximately 5:50 a.m. the mobile home was fully engulfed in flames. One adult male was reportedly home at the time of the fire.  He apparently escaped without injuries. The mobile home was completely destroyed. Firefighters were able to control the fire within about fifteen minutes. They remained on scene to monitor the fire area until approximately 7:20 a.m. Four SFD fire vehicles and fourteen firefighters and fire personnel responded. The Sevierville Police Department, Sevier County Ambulance Service and Sevier County Electric System were also on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
