White Star Market adds comfort

published: June 20 2003 12:00 AM updated:: June 20 2003 12:00 AM
Nestled into the line of school entrances in Seymour, White Star Market has recently added inside seating for their deli crowd. The tables and chairs aren’t fancy but it’s added convenience and comfort for the customers that swarm in from the surrounding schools and area during meal times. White Star opened in 1975 and will be celebrating 28 years of operation this September. When the store and deli opened, Seymour had a high school and had just opened their new primary school. Besides being the long-time favorite source of food for students and teachers like, all the county politicians know that to get elected, a few Saturday mornings each year must be devoted to hanging out with the locals who gather in the chairs out front. The deli has also added a few new items such as the chicken sub and has kept the long-time favorites of their small and large hamburgers as well as their weekly hot dog special.
