An accident occurring at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18 sent one woman to UT Medical Center. Margaret Sheila Kite of Seymour was traveling west on Old Sevierville Pike when according to a witness, Dan Stepp of Sevierville, Kite was traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to pass Stepp’s white Ford Explorer, crossing the double yellow line. At this time Kite’s red Honda 4 WD Passport lost control flipping two to three times and striking a pole before the car came to rest. “I was on my way to work and she just came up behind me. When she tried to pass me her back tire must have hit the edge of the road and she lost control,” stated Stepp. Officer Ball of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department, Trooper Bunmdred of the Tennessee State Hwy. Patrol, the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Sevier County Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
