The Seymour Herald is just a bit over a year old, and the reception the community has given us has been outstanding. In that same spirit, it is with great pride that we are pleased to announce the inaugural edition of our new publication – The Smoky Mountain Herald. The Smoky Mountain Herald will focus on the local news, events, and issues facing the communities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It will bring the citizens of these cities and the surrounding area the same high level of local news and sports coverage and editorial content that you have come to expect from The Seymour Herald. Our intent is to expand our coverage, while maintaining sharp attention to the needs of the citizens that live and work in the communities we serve. The Seymour Herald will continue to be published with its own front page. The inside will contain coverage of the Seymour area and the rest of Sevier County. Does this mean that the Seymour Herald you’ve come to depend on for news and sports in Seymour is going away? Not at all. Instead, you’re going to have access to even more information, covering a larger area, and incorporating three new nearby communities into our family. Advertisers will enjoy great price incentives giving the businesses in the area a strong incentive to increase their sales and partner with the fastest-growing news service in East Tennessee, The Herald Newspapers. Both Herald newspapers will be larger, and since we have our own presses with more color, and it will keep you informed of all the important events in this scenic and rapidly growing area. Our current plans are for the Smoky Mountain Herald to go daily within six months. The Smoky Mountain Herald will premiere on newsstands April 16 throughout the communities of Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and most other communities in-between. Come one – Come ALL You’re invited to our Open House, which will be held on April 17, immediately after the first edition goes to press. Join us for our celebration to kick off our entry into three of America’s finest cities and the rest of Sevier County. This gala event will be held at the Mainstay Suites Conference Room at 410 Pine Mountain Rd. in Pigeon Forge (865) 428-8350 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. If you see breaking news or know of an event we need to cover, you can contact us at our new Sevierville Bureau at 535 Eastgate, Sevierville, TN 37862, (865) 774-3131, or at the main office in Seymour at 500 Maryville Hwy., Seymour, (865) 577-6609 or simply email us at editor@seymourherald.com or editor@smokymountainherald.com.
