Do not block the driveway

Do not block the driveway. These words are simple enough but for some reason they do not seem to be sinking in for drivers in Sevier County. Outside the Sevier County Ambulance building located off Boyd’s Creek Rd. you will see these signs. There is one posted on the building and, thanks to a donation by a local business, a sign near the street as well. Still, the signs keep getting ignored. The reason the sign is there is so the ambulance drivers can quickly get out onto the road and respond to emergencies. What if it was your child or loved one waiting for the ambulance workers to respond? Wouldn’t those extra few seconds it would take for the cars to get out of their way matter to you? When the school traffic to Seymour Intermediate School comes around twice a day, both mornings and afternoon, it is important to keep in mind that the signs are there for a reason. So, read them and follow them. Simple.
