UT Medical Center staff expands to add two new doctors

Board certified Nephrologist Urath Suresh, MD, has joined Nephrology Associates and the medical staff at UT Medical Center. Suresh comes to the Medical Center from the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. Suresh earned his medical degree and completed his internship at the Calicut Medical College at the University of Calicut, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh and a transplant fellowship in nephrology at State University of New York in Brooklyn. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Association of Physicians of India, the Indian Medical Association, the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom and the International Society of Nephrology. In addition to his patient responsibilities, Suresh will also serve as an assistant professor in the UT Graduate School of Medicine. In other UT news, Ming-Hui Zou, MD, PhD, has joined the research staff at the UT Heart, Lung, Vascular Institute. Zou comes to UT from Boston University School of Medicine, where he worked in the vascular biology division. Zou will be the director of the Vascular Research Lab, and he will serve as an associate professor in the Department of Surgery. Zou earned his medical degree from Huber Medical University in China, his master’s degree in pharmacology at Henan Medical University in China and his PhD at the University of Paul-Sabatier in France. His areas of research interest include vascular healing, atherosclerosis, aneurysm and diabetes, and he receives two research grants from the American Heart Association and from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. He is a member of the American Heart Association, the Federation of European Biochemical Societies, the European Biochemical Pharmacology Society and the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
