CLEVELAND - Television talk show legend, Mike Douglas has agreed to be the official spokesperson for the nation’s largest mobile vascular screening company, Life Line Screening. Operating in 46 states, Life Line Screening specializes in identifying the risk for stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease and osteoporosis.
Despite many offers to endorse numerous products and services since the days of his daytime television show, Douglas has kindly declined, until now. “I have felt the pain that stroke has caused in my own family, and in others,” said Douglas. “As I learned about Life Line Screening, I realized it was a great way to give something back to the millions of viewers that were so good to me over the years.”
“I’ve talked to experts and I’ve seen the results. I know Life Line Screening can help save millions of families from the devastation of stroke,” added Douglas. “That is why I am involved today.”
For more than 20 years, “The Mike Douglas Show,” was seen every day in millions of homes around the country. The popular singer-turned-TV host used his easy humor and Irish charm to create what became the prototype for today’s talk show empires. The list of guests that appeared on the show over the years reads like a who’s who in Hollywood.
“We are honored to have Mike Douglas as our national spokesperson,” President & CEO of Life Line Screening, Colin Scully stated. “To millions of Americans, Mike is like an old friend of the family, and his endorsement will help many more people become aware of the risk of stroke and the value of preventive health screenings.”
Life Line Screening was established in 1993, and has partnered with more than 100 U.S. hospitals. Registered or registry-eligible ultrasound teams are on staff to travel to local communities, making the screenings accessible nationwide. These noninvasive, inexpensive and painless ultrasound tests help people identify their risk for stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease, and osteoporosis early enough for their physician to begin preventive procedures.
Life Line Screening’s Mission is to make people aware of the existence of an undetected health problem and instruct them to seek follow-up care with their personal physician.
