The new library finally in the works after two years

The Sevier County Commissioners recently voted to choose a site for a new Seymour Library to be located on Macon Lane, adjacent to Dr. Stephen Johnston’s Dental office. The building is planned to be ready by June of next year to coincide with the lease expiring on that month from the present location at Peacock Crossing. The size, design or layout of the building is still undetermined at this time. Several deciding factors played into this location. One of which was the fact that Dr. Stephen Johnston DDS, Joe & Mitzi Graham, who are Drs. Of Pharmacy, and Dwight Disney donated half an acre to the county and sold the other half for $65,000.
