New Appointments Announced at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center

Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center has announced two new appointments to their medical center team. Kay Funderburg has been named director of rehabilitation services at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center. In addition, Jessica Taylor has accepted the position of community health coordinator. Both assumed their positions in September. Funderburg is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, receiving bachelor’s degrees in physical therapy at the college in Memphis and in education at Knoxville. Funderburg is a licensed physical therapist and has worked at Fort Sanders Sevier since 1994, most recently served as coordinator of physical therapy. Prior to her employment at the medical center, she was a staff physical at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Funderburg resides in Sevierville with her husband, Tony; the couple has two daughters, Ashton and Kasey. Taylor, who has assumed the role of community health educator, holds a Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise and health promotion from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Prior to her current role, she was a graduate teaching associate at the University of Tennessee and also served as a personal fitness coordinator at the Downtown YMCA, both in Knoxville. Taylor resides in Knoxville and enjoys reading, exercising and twirling the baton.
