Obituary for Hammontree, Reverend Robert L.  Age 74 of Greenback, passed away at 8:50 AM, November 11, 2002 at the family home.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vonore, TN. In 1960, he was called to begin a mission in Smyrna, TN at Rocky Fork, which later became Rocky Fork Baptist Church.  For the next four decades, he ministered to the communities and baptist congregations of Unicoi, Rocky Springs, West Side, Lake Side, and Oak Street. In addition to his ministerial duties he also worked 38 years as Plant Manager of the Tennco Feed Mill in Rockford.  He is preceded in death by: Father, Robert F. (Bob) Hammontree and Mother, Maude (Brewer) Hammontree; Sister, Ruth Bright; Brothers, Melvin Hammontree, Charles Hammontree, Jimmy Hammontree, Joe Hammontree, and Harry Hammontree.  Survivors include: Wife of 50 years, Virginia (Nichols) Hammontree; Daughter and Son-in-law, Kathy and Alan Harveston of Rock Hill, SC; Son and Daughter-in-law, Tim and Marti Hammontree of Suwanee, GA; Son and Daughter-in-law, Scott and Kim Hammontree of Greenback; Grandchildren, Holly and Matt Bradshaw of TN, Cole, Casi, Cori, Cris, and Cain Hammontree of GA, and Jason and Jama Hammontree of TN; Step-Grandchildren, Amy and Kelly Harveston; Step-Great-Grandchild, Lacy Harveston; and special family member, Pete Billingsley; Sister, Louise Linginfelter of Greenback; Brothers, Ross Hammontree of Colorado, J.C. Hammontree of Greenback, and Kenneth Hammontree of Maryville.  Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at Vonore Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Moore and Rev. Tony Collins officiated.  Family and friends assembled Thursday, November 14, 2002 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Greenback for the interment.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: R.L. She worked as a registered nurse for many years. Survivors: Husband: Roy W. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Pigeon Forge and was a retired nurse from Baptist Hospital (Class of 1963). Obituary for Edgar Boone Lockman October 20, 1912 - November 15, 2002 Funeral Home:  Atchley Funeral Home Cemetery: Shiloh Cemetery Edgar Boone Lockman, age 90 of Sevierville, died Friday, November 15, 2002 at his home. He was born in Cataloochee, North Carolina and his family moved to New Jersey when he was young.He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse B. and Delphia Seay Lockman; daughter Joyce Dawn; brothers Jesse, Wayne, O’Dell, Paul, C.L. and Dennis Lockman; sister Opal Coles. She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Pope. Obituary for Reverend Max L. Kelly Reverend Max L. Kelly, age 77 of Alcoa, passed away November 14, 2002.  He was born less than two miles away from where he lived most of his life.  Jesus came for him while he was cleaning leaves in his yard.  He always said that he would rather wear out than rust out.  Rev. Kelley was a Sailor on the U.S.S. D.R. Hill during World War II when she was sunk in the Atlantic by a German U-Boat.  Many lives were lost when the destroyer went down. He worked at the ALCOA Plant for 38 years before he retired. He was a member of their 25-Year Club.  During the 55 years that Brother Max was a preacher, he was pastor at eight different churches in Blount County. He spent seven years at Lone Oak Baptist Church. He was always a “hands on” minister, visiting the sick and the elderly after his retirement.  He will be greatly missed here in this world but God has another job for him.  Papaw Kelley was preceded in passing by:  Father, Claude D. Kelley; Mother, Maude Romines Kelley; Brother, Carl Kelley of Alcoa; Sister, Lennie Kelley Long of Maryville.  Survivors include: Wife of 60 years, Kathleen S. Kelley; Daughters, Sue Barker of Rockford and Edna Harmon of Louisville; Son, Leon D. Kelley of Maryville; Grandchildren, Teresa Cooper, Krista Huskey, Brian Nix, Angela Barker and Dexter Kelley; Great-Grandchildren: Josh Anderson, Daniel Kelley, Kyra Huskey, Spencer Barker and Sierra Kelley; Beloved friend, AD Long.
