Sunday night around 9:00 p.m. a call went out over the Sevier County Sheriff’s radio in the Seymour area, to be on the lookout for a yellow and black CBR Suzuki motorcycle reportedly speeding at least 100 miles per hour in the area of Floyds Market. Sevier County Sheriff’s Deputy Karen Pickens was at South Rogers road on another motorcycle traffic stop when the yellow and black CBR Suzuki motorcycle passed by. “I saw the motorcycle pass me”, stated Deputy Pickens. She stated that she cruised the area looking for the motorcycle when another call came of a suspicious vehicle behind Floyds Market. “As I was near Tall Water stretch, I got a suspicion vehicle report behind Floyds market and headed that direction”, Deputy Pickens said. Sevier County Sheriff’s Deputy David Lamon also heard the call and responded. “I didn’t see the lights but I heard the sound of a motorcycle and headed down Reagan Branch Road”, Lamon stated. At a sharp turn about half a mile down Reagan Branch Road, the yellow and black CBR Suzuki motorcycle Adam Yates was driving hit the gravel and came to rest. “He was charge a required license law and reckless driving and evading arrest”, said Deputy Pickens. Yates received injury to his knew. He was transported to Fort Sanders Hospital.
