Road Committee impressed

published: May 22 2002 12:00 AM updated:: May 22 2002 12:00 AM
Thanks to the seated County Commissioners in the Seymour area, the Seymour Community Park made it on the agenda of the Roads Committee last Monday night at 6:00 p.m. Three board members of the Seymour Park provided Road Committee Members with an outline of the 14-acre Seymour Community Park’s agenda, a time-line, and a large map illustrating all the various sports that can be played there. Also the community center building, parking lots and the one road which needs repair and modification. That one road is the purpose of the meeting. The Roads Committee members appeared to be very interested in the presentation. They suggested that the Park Board meet with Jonas Smelcer, Superintendent of the Sevier County Roads, to provide him all the details. He will then report back to the Roads Committee who then will make the decision to provide the requested services. The Roads Committee was invited to the 4th of July events consisting of the official ground breaking celebrations and an old fashioned 4th of July sponsored by Big Mama’s Karaoke Café and the Seymour. Hot dogs and refreshments will be free or at a reduced price to the local public. “I think the meeting went very well”, stated Bob Zasowski, Seymour Park Board member.
