4-H Connections

Seven Sevier County 4-H Members recently participated, in the Jr. High District 4-H Spring Achievement Day Activities, at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee. Achievement Day gives 4-H members the opportunity to compete with 4-H record books and tabletop exhibits. Sevier County 4-H members took home several district awards. They include: Amanda Hansen, Pi Beta Phi, 8th grade - Consumer Management Project - Record book, tabletop and overall district winner; Kandra McCarter, Pi Beta Phi, 8th grade, Communication Project, recordbook, tabletop and overall District Winner; Rhett Clanton, Homeschool, 7th grade, Consumer Management Project, recordbook, tabletop and overall District Winner. Beth Trenkamp, Homeschool, 8th grade, Garden Project, Tabletop District Winner; Cassie Maples, Pi Beta Phi, 8th grade, Personal Development Project, Recordbook and overall District Winner. Other Sevier County 4-H Members competing included: Sara Matthews, Sevierville Middle School, 8th grade, Poultry Project; and Mindy Bischoff, Pi Beta Phi, 7th grade, Clothing Project.
