Bob’s Mountaineer Restaurant to open soon

When Bob’s Mountaineer Restaurant burned to the ground the first part of April local residents began asking, “When will they reopen?” To the amazement of everyone construction to repair the charred building began immediately. “I went to BB&T and spoke with Rose Walker on a Tuesday asking for a building loan. I didn’t want to wait until the insurance paperwork was done. By Thursday I had a check and was ready to start rebuilding,” stated Robert “Bob” Pritchard, owner of Bob’s Mountaineer. “I was hoping to open by July 1st, but it looks like it will be the middle of July now.” The new interior has log type walls with rock tile floors and according to Pritchard, “It gives it that mountaineer feeling. I wanted to go rustic and still have a good looking modern restaurant.” Pritchard said it took some time getting the walls just right. “We stained them, then sanded, then stained them again. It took longer than expected. The community, as well as Pritchard, is looking forward to the grand re-opening. “My old employees are checking back all the time, some of them daily to see when we will be open. It seems like it’s taking forever but it won’t be too much longer now.”
