Another large drug bust by TBI

An undercover operation, conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Drug Investigation Division (TBI/DID), the 12th Judicial District Drug Task Force (12th JDDTF), Grund County Sheriff’s Department and the Dunlap Police Department, for the last ten months has resulted in the indictments of thirty-eight (38) individuals on a multitude of drug and weapons charges. This undercover operation targeted individuals who are considered mid to upper-level drug dealers and manufacturers in Grundy and Sequatchie Counties of Tennessee. Undercover agents with the Chattanooga TBI/DID and the 12th JDDTF purchased numerous amounts of illegal narcotics, including Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Zanax, and Hydrocodone. Agents also executed search warrants on several residences and seized approximately six (6) methamphetamine laboratories from different individuals. A majority of the individuals targeted in this operation are well-known drug dealers and repeat offenders in this region. Several of the subjects indicted during this operation have met the requirements and are being considered for Federal Prosecution by the United States Attorney’s targeted and indicted, and the amount of illegal narcotics seized. The above agencies feel the operation was a success.
