Big Hearts Get Big Rewards

published: June 19 2002 12:00 AM updated:: June 19 2002 12:00 AM
The results are in! This year’s Knox County Sack Pack has proven to be another success! Goodwill Industries-Knoxville Inc., in conjunction with Knox County Schools, Ogle’s Water Park, and Mc Donald’s, collected over 186,984 pounds of donated materials giving thousands of kids one cool day in the hot summer sun. Donations, ranging from toys, clothing, books and dishes were picked up on Friday, May 10th, thanks to the Marine Corps and the Bearden High School football team. Each child that donated a bag of goods received a free day pass to Ogle’s Water Park and a free meal at Mc Donald’s. “This is a great community partnership between area businesses, Knox County schools, and Goodwill. Everyone benefits, including the children, Goodwill and Knox County.” Said Sara Pollard, VP of Marketing and Development at Goodwill Industries. This year makes the fifteenth annual Goodwill Sack Pack drive, and once again, all will be rewarded, and all credits due to the big hearts of our Knox County youth and area businesses.
