Seymour, TN-Total Kaos, a teen dance club, has finally opened its doors. The club, located on Highway 411 in the Seymour Business Park, is for teenagers and is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the club is open from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m. (Thursdays until 11 p.m.) and features a DJ, big dance floor, and concession stand. The cover charge to enter the club is $7. Owners Sharma Floyd and Anthony Lambert wanted to create a safe place for area teenagers to come and have fun. “Our DJ is awesome, he knows all of today’s current music and we have a large dance floor to dance on,” said Lambert. Critics of the club are concerned that it may not be a safe atmosphere. “First off, we are in a very respectable neighborhood, as well as being located inside the Seymour Business Park, we aren’t going to get out of control here. We have a strict dress code, security personnel, and a metal detector. We want teens to have a safe place to hang out and have fun. We don’t allow alcohol or drugs on the premises, all rules are enforced with no exceptions,” Lambert explains. The club, already open a week, has had no problems. Word of the dance club has spread like wild fire. Several radio stations have already called the owners hoping to do a remote from the Total Kaos location. Lambert is already anticipating that crowds will continue to grow and looks forward to the club becoming a popular spot for teens. “We are very excited and we hope that teenagers feel they can come here and have a safe and fun place to hang out.” Once inside the club, teens will be impressed by the contemporary look. One unique feature is the DJ booth, hovering over the floor it appears to be suspended by a thick chrome chain. Decorated in neon and black, the club has an “exposed” look. The air ducts and DJ booth have chrome touches, which give the appearance of a warehouse being used for a party. The walls have been painted black and neon with a black light used to accent the vivid colors. Strobe and other lights, as well as a fog machine, were installed to add to the overall effect. The music and atmosphere are sure to make Total Kaos a popular place for teens.
