Ellie S. Ownby,
May 17, 1913 - July 22, 2002 age 89 of Gatlinburg, passed away Monday, July 22, 2002 at Fort Sanders- Sevier Medical Center. Her son, Roy Lee Gibson, preceded her in death. Funeral Home: Atchley Funeral Home. Cemetery: Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery. Survivors: Son and Daughters-in-law: Kenneth R. and Sharon Ogle Daughter: Irattle R. Blalock. Grandchildren: Ricky Gibson, Ralph Gibson, Debbie Stamm, Kathy Carver, Robin Grothans, Jimmy Reagan, Gina Bates. Step-Grandchild: Amy Valentine, 10 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 7 p.m. last Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Ayers and Rev. Clayton Brantley officiating. Family and friends met at 10 a.m. this past Thursday in Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery for interment. The received friends from 5-7 p.m. last Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home.
Pamela Ann Loveday,
August 13, 1957 - July 23, 2002 age 44 of Pigeon Forge, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Loveday, and father, Everette Loveday.
Funeral Home: Atchley Funeral Home. Cemetery: Kear-Loveday Cemetery. Survivors:Mother: Mae Loveday. Sisters and brother-in-law: Freda Parton, Donna and Tommy Shular. Brothers: Paul Gray, Kenneth Loveday and Gary Loveday. Several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services were 7 p.m. last Thursday in the chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment services were 10 a.m. Friday in the Kear-Loveday Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to benefit the family. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. this past Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
Donald J. McKendrick,
August 31, 1936 - July 24, 2002 age 75 of Sevierville, Tennessee died July 24, 2002 at Home. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Claire (Benhardt) McKendrick, and brother Peter Jr. Funeral Home: Atchley Funeral Home. Don, was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey and resided most of his life in South Brunswick, New Jersey. He worked as a member of Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local 9 Union, retiring after 47 years of service in 1992. In 1993 he then relocated to Sevierville, Tennessee, then moved to Maiden, North Carolina, Spring Hill, Florida before returning to Sevierville in 1999. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII as well as the Korean Conflict, he was a member of Holly Cross Catholic Church in Pigeon Forge, TN and the American Legion 104 of Sevierville, TN. Don, was active all his life with Racing Pigeons and was a member or the American Racing Pigeon Union, pre-retirement he belonged to Bound Book, Perth Amboy and Queen City Pigeon Clubs in New Jersey later in life he joined the Catawba Club in North Carolina, and the Gulf Coast Club in Florida. Survivors: Wife: Hazel (Bowser) McKendrick of Sevierville. Son and daughter-in-law: Donald Jr. and Judith McKendrick of South Brunswick, New Jersey. Daughter and son-in-law: Dennis and Claire Moreen of South Brunswick, New Jersey. Grand-Children: Ryan, Kyle and Todd McKendrick and Dennis Moreen Jr. Stepsons and daughters-in-law: Donald and Diane Bowser Jr., William and Cindy Bowser and James and Pamela Sr.
Step grandchildren: Samantha, James Jr., Christopher, Jonathan Bowser and William, Matthew Tuck all of New Jersey; Sisters: Helen Harrison of North Brunswick, New Jersey, Claire Fruchauf of Holiday Florida. Funeral Mass was this past Saturday at 10 a.m. in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Father Jay Flaherty officiating. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. this past Friday at Atchley Funeral Home

Age 77 of Maryville died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at her home. She was a member of Maryville First Baptist Church and the Maranatha Sunday School Class. Preceded in death by: Husband, Joe E. Carver. Whitehead, Kennis,
Age 68 of Maryville, passed away on July 25, 2002 at his home after battling cancer. Kennis was born on February 15, 1934 in Maryville, TN. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Sitkoh Bay during the Korean War. He retired from Twin City Buick in 1996. He was also a home- builder in the Blount County area. He was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Parents, Etta and Will Whitehead; Wife, Shelby Whitehead; Sister, Lexie Gilbert; Brothers, Oscar and J.M. Whitehead. Survivors include: Wife, Barbara Jo Justice Whitehead; Son, Mark Whitehead of Maryville; Daughter and Son-in-law, Kenna and Larry Stephens of Powell; Stepdaughter, Donna Rose of Maryville; Step daughter and Son-in-law, Denise and Danny Edsell of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Jesse and Joey Stephens of Powell, Kyle and Lee Whitehead of Knoxville; Step Grandchildren, Kasey Hensley of Maryville and Tyler Edsell of Knoxville; Sister, Edith Henry of Knoxville; Sisters-in-law, Ruby Whitehead of Maryville and Francis Whitehead of Fontana, NC; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Ervil and Betty Whitehead of Alcoa, Marvin and Ruth Whitehead of Maryville, and Elden and Evelyn Whitehead of Enterprise, AL; several nieces and nephews. Age 87 of Alcoa, died Thursday, July 25, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Alcoa and ALCOA’s 25- Year Club. Preceded in death by: Wife, Mildred Burns; Parents, Charles & Mary Burns; Son, Gary Lynn Burns; Brothers, Chester, Odell, Wayne, and Ell Ray Burns; Great Grandson, Dylan Bryant. July 16, 1920 - July 28, 2002, age 82, of Sevierville, died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dona Townsend and brother, Clyde Townsend. Funeral Home: Atchley Funeral Home. Cemetery: Mount Zion Cemetery. Survivors: Wife: Ina Recee Metcalf Townsend. Son and Daughter-in-law:Hobert Conley and Lois Townsend, Jr. Daughters and Sons-in-law: Wanda Coletta Charlene and Howard Lawson, Alice Townsend Shults, Linda and David Whaley. Haskell Franklin officiating. Interment was at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family received friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
