Austin Powers in Goldmember: Ya Baby! Austin is Back!

After a short hiatus, Austin Powers has returned in his newest flick, “Goldmember”.
As Austin joins forces with the very strange Goldmember, Dr. Evil comes up with a time-traveling scheme to once again take over the world. This time Evil kidnaps Nigel Powers, Austin’s father and England’s most renowned spy.
While chasing the bad guys, Austin goes back to 1975 and joins forces with his old flame, Detective Foxxy Cleopatra. Together the two look for ways to save Nigel and stop Dr. Evil and Goldmember from destroying the world.
Mike Myers does it once again, bringing together totally ridiculous situations and characters to make people laugh. Many characters return from the first two films while new characters are introduced.
Myers portrays all of his characters (Fat Man and Dr. Evil) with the same flair as before, while adding Goldmember to his character list. One new character, Foxxy Cleopatra played by Beyonce Knowles, of Destiny’s Child (the singing group), can be found shouting out sayings like, “Shazam” or “Stick ‘em up sugar.” She does a nice job in her acting debut but does not have quite the same on- scene chemistry as Liz Hurley or Heather Graham did in the previous films.
Without giving away the best parts of the show, you will be surprised with cameos and the turn of events that happen in this installment.
Where Myers gets the ideas for the characters and scenes I will never know, but they are definitely from the mind of a great comedian. Rated PG 13, this film is groovy baby, and worth a trip to the theater.
