Azheimer’s Support Group to Meet Sevier County Alzheimer’s Support Group meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Wing of Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center. Donated items may be brought to the church on Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. School Registration Begins Pre-registration will be 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm this Wednesday and Thursday at all Sevier County Schools. Children who did not attend Sevier County Schools during the last school year or those not pre-registered for kindergarten, are invited to come. Please bring a certified birth certificate, Tennessee Certificate of Immunization and a preschool physical if this is the child’s first time in Sevier Country Schools. IJAMS NATURE CENTER’S AUGUST CALENDAR OF EVENTS BAT WALK Friday, August 9 from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. Join Ijams naturalists for this fun and informative “talk and walk” program about bats. First, Ijams staff will present a slide show to familiarize you with East Tennessee’s native bat population. Then they will lead a walk to the “bat cave” on Ijams’ property to try and catch a glimpse of these nocturnal mammals. Program is for all ages.
