At approximately 11:38AM Wednesday, June 12, 2002, Sevierville Police Corporal Ron Atchley responded to a report of an accident involving a bicyclist and a truck at the Post Office facility, 711 Dolly Parton Pkwy. According to 50 year old Dianne Carr of Sevierville, she was stopped near the stop sign on the east entrance/exit of the Post Office, when the Toyota pick-up truck she was driving was struck by a man riding a bicycle. The bicyclist, 37 year-old Dwayne Harrington of Sevierville, was apparently riding his bicycle west on the sidewalk when he struck the passenger side of the Toyota. Harrington was transported to Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries. The front tire of the bicycle was severely damaged. The Toyota received minor damage.
