My wife teaches music and conducts choirs.  I was privileged to accompany her to a choral music conference in Louisville the week before last.  I heard many choir and other vocal group performances.  The highlight of all for me was the performance of the Seymour High Chorus on Saturday morning.  Of all the groups I heard- high school, church, professional, college adult community-by far the most outstanding was the group from Seymour.  The performed serious music flawlessly with great feeling and I was greatly touched by their talent.  I was unable to see your Junior High group but understand that they were outstanding as well.  My hat is off to these dedicated and talented young people.  They represent your community well.

It's a credit to these students and Ms. Burkhart. This choir is a true gem in Seymour. If you have not seen them, make plans to see one of their performances. I am so proud of them and their accomplishments. Not only do they make up and fantastic ensemble, but individually, they are some of the finest people that you will ever meet.

Although I read your Website almost daily, I seldom add comments. In this instance, I must write a brief note. My wife, Linda, and I have been blessed to attend several programs given by the music departments of Seymour High School, under the director of Jean Burkhart, and Seymour Middle School, under the direction of Lisa Bitzas. What talent these young people have! What skill these teachers exhibit in recognizing and developing these talented young musicians! Seymour residents-- including teachers and parents-- should be so very proud of these students and the music programs they represent. I know I am proud of them. They represent some of the finest young people in our State. If Tennessee and America are to prosper in the future, our next generation must exhibit the willingness to work hard and achieve that these students exhibit.
