The Clayton Center for the Arts on the Maryville College campus presents “Triple Treat” Sept. 7 through 30.
The art show will open with an artist’s reception Sept. 7, held in conjunction with the grand opening of the Clayton Center’s La Dolce Vita Gallery and Gift Shop.
The exhibition in the Denso Manufacturing Tennessee Community Art Gallery features three local artists: sculptress Joyce McCroskey, mixed media jewelry designer Kim Slater and painter Karol Smith.  The combined talent of these three well-known local artists represents a total of almost 150 years of experience.
At 6 p.m. on Sept. 7, the artists will be present to welcome visitors to the gallery. Also at 6 p.m., the Clayton Center Gift Shop will hold its grand opening. The shop, which is adjacent to the Denso gallery, will feature Clayton Center merchandise, as well as items created by local and regional artists and craftsmen.
On the same night, there will also be a screening of “That Evening Sun,” starring Hal Holbrook. The movie, which was filmed in Knox and Blount counties, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in the Clayton Center’s Ronald and Lynda Nutt Theatre.
The Denso Community Gallery and Clayton Center Gift Shop, located on the first floor of the main building of the Clayton Center, are open to the public Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and during “Clayton Center Presents” events.
