March 20, 2008 - A local resident, D'Ramirez, opened the March 20 session of the Tennessee State Senate when she sang The Lord Prayer.  Ms. Ramirez, of Pigeon Forge, was accompanied to the state capitol in Nashville by her husband Jim Callicott as the guest of Senator Raymond Finney (R-Maryville).
The local talent sings country, pop and gospel music.  The State Senate starts each legislative day with a prayer before taking up the legislative calendars.
