Families across the region are searching for ways to make the most of their travel opportunities as gas prices continue to climb. Like modern-day treasure hunters, parents are surfing the web for a map to nearby destinations where they can relax and have fun with their kids without feeling like their wallets are walking the plank. Often their point-and-click prospecting brings them to the one “X” marking downtown Chattanooga. Punching 35:03:20 N and 85:18:40 W into his dashboard GPS, Captain Dad sets the family land cruiser on a course for fun and adventure.

Once in Chattanooga, many visitors are surprised to find they can put the car in dry-dock and enjoy smooth sailing on the city’s free electric shuttle buses. Some people are surprised by how many attractions are within easy walking distance from one another. Many others have not experienced the beautiful Chattanooga Waterfront and the nautical offerings for visiting landlubbers. Quick ferry trips to the city’s vibrant North Shore or more leisurely dinner cruises on the scenic Tennessee River are available.

Since most people like vacation deals, the Tennessee Aquarium is now offering a special option to stretch visitor’s time and money. The 2-Day Big Fish Pass allows anyone to relax and recharge during family visits to Chattanooga. Now Aquarium guests will be able to enjoy both buildings – River Journey and Ocean Journey – as often as they would like over two days. Visitors will be able to make themselves at home and come and go as often as they please. If the kids decide they’d like to come back and see the penguins again, (and again) or touch a shark one more time, its part of the “all you can sea” deal.

Along with two days of unlimited admission to the Tennessee Aquarium, Big Fish Passes help reel in these additional benefits:

-IMAX Theater - $2.00 off adult and $1 off child tickets

-Tennessee Aquarium & IMAX Gift Shops and Concessions – Save 10%

-Creative Discovery Museum - $2 off each ticket purchase

-Ruby Falls - $2 off each ticket purchase

-Water Taxi and Fat Cat Ferry – Free all-day ticket with purchase of $6 adult ticket

The 2-Day Big Fish Pass is available for the special introductory price of $24.95/adult and $17.50/child (ages 3-12) at the Aquarium’s Ticketing Center and online at: www.tnaqua.org/visitorinfo/bigfishpass.asp .
