Pigeon Forge wins awards

The city of Pigeon Forge, its businesses and attractions are winners in the eyes of the readers of Blue Ridge Country. To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the award-winning magazine asked its readers to choose the best and the brightest of the region, and Pigeon Forge was selected in a number of categories. Pigeon Forge received platinum awards for Best Family Getaway, Best Outlet Shopping and Best Overall Shopping; a gold award for Best Christmas Lights Displays; and a silver award for Best Place to Take the Kids. Dollywood took gold awards for Best Mountain Attraction and Best Place to Take the Kids; and a silver award for Best Family Getaway. Locally owned restaurant, The Old Mill, received a gold award for Best Restaurant for Mountain Flavor. Blue Ridge Country is dedicated to the beauty, history and outdoor recreation of the Southern Appalachians. The magazine has subscribers in every U.S. state and in 20 other nations, with a readership of more than 500,000. Complete results of the balloting appear in the magazine’s current edition.
