Fiddler on the Roof

The classic musical of faith, family, and tradition, Fiddler on the Roof comes to the Bijou Theater Center February 7-23, 2003 in a full collaboration between the Bijou and Crossville’s Cumberland County Playhouse. Jim Crabtree and Carol Irvin star as Tevye and Golde, in a production directed by John Briggs, a frequent guest director for companies such as the Barter Theater, Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Tennessee Rep. Playhouse and Bijou favorite Jason Ross, seen as the Preacher in Smoke on the Mountain and Sanders Family Christmas plays Motel the tailor to CCP leading lady Weslie Webster’s Tzeitel. Knoxville soprano Nicole Begue plays daughter “Hodel” to CCP leading man Britt Hancock’s “Perchik,” with Knoxville actors Sean Russo, Seed Lynn, and Mary Beth Prescott in featured rules. A company of thirty-five Knoxville professionals, students, kids and volunteers portray the people of Anatevka on stage designed by Clarence Brown Theater’s Robert Cothran. General Performances for Fiddler on the Roof are February 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 at 7:30PM and February 9, 15, 16, 22, 23 at 2:30PM.
