Bachelorette no longer
Trista Rehn (The Bachelorette) has made her choice. It’s firefighter Ryan Sutter, 27, of Vail, Colo. Rehn made her selection on the ABC show. Sutter then asked Rehn to marry him. She replied, “Yes!” Then she starting crying and said, “You stepped out of my dreams and into my world - My walls have finally crumbled, and I can now tell you without reservation that I am in love with you.”
Paycheck dies
Country singer Johnny Paycheck (real name Donald Eugene Lytle), 64, died after having been bedridden in a Nashville nursing home with emphysema and asthma, said a Grand Ole Opry spokeswoman. Paycheck was best known for his 1977 hit, ‘Take This Job and Shove It.” His other hits included “Don’t Take Her, She’s All I Got”, “I’m the Only Hell Mama Ever Raised” and “Slide Off Your Satin Sheets.”
Bon Jovi to head
for court?
Jon Bon Jovi’s former housekeeper, Maria Sliwinska, 55, has filed a legal complaint against the singer in Trenton, New Jersey’s small claims court. In the suit she claims the musician, 40, did not reimburse her for $430 in travel expenses from her home to his mansion, according to TheSmokingGun.com.
Jane Pauley
to leave NBC
Jane Pauley, 52, anchor of “Dateline NBC” she will leave the network in May. She has worked for the network for 27 years, including her stint as “Today” host, which ended in 1989. She was quoted as saying, “I keep walking by bookstores and seeing titles about second acts in life,” she told The New York Times, adding that she found herself asking, “What’s next, or even, what is it I really want to do?” I’m sure she will find something and hopefully for her fans it will be something that keeps Pauley in the public eye.
70s sitcom star charged
Adam Rich, 34, who starred in the 70s sitcom “Eight is Enough,” was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence during a Dec. 18 California Interstate Highway incident outside of Los Angeles. According to reports, Rich nearly hit a patrol car. He was freed on $2,500 bail.
Hudson to present
Kate Hudson, 23, the star of “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” will be hosting the Scientific and Technical Academy Awards, to be held at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The main Oscar ceremony will be March 23 at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre. Besides hosting the event Hudson will appear during the main Oscar telecast to introduce a rundown of the sci-tech honorees.
