Mr. Ed coming back The 1961-66 CBS sitcom “Mr. Ed,” about a talking horse and his human pal Wilbur (actor Alan Young, is now 83), is being revived for FOX TV, reports Variety. Rather than a deep almost Southern-drawl-like voice, this new Ed “will speak with a more urban voice a la Eddie Murphy or Eddie Griffin,” says the trade paper. No airdate has been announced. Will the real Jackie Chan please stand up? Action star Jackie Chan, 48, confessed that’s not always him in his movies. “I will use stunt doubles if you ask me to ride an F-16 jet fighter, or to jump over a series of hurdles with a crazy horse, or to perform two 720-degree somersaults,” Chan was quoted as saying. “But one somersault, I’ll do it myself … I will do what I could do and I won’t do anything that is out of my capability.” Chan is known for doing his own fancy footwork. Franklin says no way Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, 60, did not cooperate with authorities investigating an Oct. 25 fire that destroyed her $1.6-million Michigan mansion, according to a police report. The Detroit News reports that Bloomfield Township police claim that after the blaze officers were rebuffed repeatedly while trying to interview Franklin, who told detectives by phone that she was “too tired” to talk and would call back. According to Franklin’s publicist Franklin and her attorneys have been “cooperative from the very beginning.” Jason Priestley getting close Jason Priestley was almost back to normal when he went to the Sundance Film Festival. The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star looked in on his new movie “Die Mommy Die.” Priestley ran his car into a wall at the Kentucky Speedway at a speed of 180 mph. After breaking both feet and the middle part of his back, and suffering several fractures in and around his face, he recuperated at an undisclosed rehab facility in the Midwest. While at Sundance, Priestley does not plan on skiing, according to reports. The Bee Gees no more The Bee Gees died with Maurice Gibb, his twin brother Robin, 53, said on British TV Tuesday. “The Bee Gees to us was the three brothers,” Robin said on GMTV. “In Maurice’s name we would respect that and not be the Bee Gees any more.” Robin’s statement contradicts an earlier one by third band member and older brother, Barry Gibb, 56, who had said that the group would continue as a tribute to their late sibling. Maurice died Jan. 12 after his small intestine and bowel had become twisted and restricted his blood flow. An autopsy report blamed the condition on a genetic defect. The musician fell ill at his home in Miami and was rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for intestinal blockage. Just before surgery, he suffered cardiac arrest. Brown admitted to hospital Bobby Brown, who was jailed after pleading guilty to a 1996 drunken driving charge, has been admitted to a hospital in Atlanta. The singer, 33, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after complaining of an undisclosed ailment. Last week, Brown who is married to singer Whitney Houston, 39, was sentenced to eight days in jail, as well as 240 hours of community service and ordered to pay about $2,600 in fines. Brown’s hits include: “My Prerogative” and “Every Little Step.” He got in trouble with the law when he evidently violated conditions of his bond when he performed live on ABC’s American Music Awards in Los Angeles. He was to stay in Georgia until his trial.
