CMH Records is pleased to announce the signing of a recording contract with Sevier County’s own Pine Mountain Railroad. David Haerle, President of CMH Records stated “We first saw Pine Mountain Railroad during a performance at the 2002 International Bluegrass Association convention. We were blown away by the power of their live shows and the strength of their original compositions. Having Pine Mountain Railroad on the CMH label became a top priority for us.”
CMH will be releasing Pine Mountain Railroad’s new project, “The Old Radio” this summer. This album was produced by multi-Grammy award winner, Bil VornDick and includes original songs by the band. Pine Mountain Railroad consists of Jimbo Whaley, lead vocals and guitarist; Kipper Stitt, banjo and vocals; Bill McBee, bass and vocals; Clint Damewood, fiddle and vocals; and Danny Barnes, mandolin and vocals.
Formed in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee, Pine Mountain Railroad has made quite an impression on audiences around the U.S. and Canada over the past four years with their unique style, original songs and exciting stage performances. The band’s extensive touring schedule has earned the band an enthusiastic national following. The band began the year with successful tours in California and Canada and has scheduled performance dates well into 2004. Pine Mountain Railroad also made their motion picture debut in a film to be released this fall. Original songs by the band will be heard in the film and movie trailer.
