Dreamgirls comes to Bijou Theatre in Knoxville

The glitz, glamour and drama of Motown electrifies Knoxville as the smash hit Broadway musical, DREAMGIRLS, lights up the Bijou Theater Center stage October 11 – 20, 2002. DREAMGIRLS recounts the meteoric rise to fame of three young women from Chicago who begin their careers as The Dreamettes and metamorphose into The Dreams. Often compared to the real-life story of The Supremes, DREAMGIRLS’ whirlwind expose of life’s ups-and-downs through promise, heartbreak, joy and eventual triumph, puts ambition in perspective with the recurrent, haunting musical refrain, “Show business, it’s just show business.” Harry Bryce, of “Having Our Say” directorial acclaim, does not disappoint theater-goers with his sleek, meticulous direction of this phenomenal cast.
