Phoenix Court is a new upscale office complex in Seymour located next to the Peacock Plaza Development on Chapman Highway. The first of the three buildings planned for the development is nearing completion with just minor touch up remaining. Local businessperson Bobby White originally purchased the property with plans to erect an office for a family business. His wife, daughter and son have recently graduated from the same law school class and will begin their practice at 216 Phoenix Court. White is a life-long resident of Seymour and has had successful businesses in the area before deciding to purchase the land and branch into property management. White presently owns the Round-Up Truck Sales, Inc. on Chapman Highway. His plan is to give this business to his future son-in-law who is engaged to his attorney daughter in the family law firm of White and White. At one time he owned White’s Hardware Store on Chapman Highway but succumbed to the competition of Lowe’s and other large merchants who offered more selection and better prices on most items. White began selling automobiles full-time rather than as a sideline to his hardware business and eventually opened The Roundup Truck Sales. He purchased the land now known as Phoenix Court and built the office complex to his specifications in order to make them “a little nicer than average.” White said, “ If you’re like me you spend as much time or more at work than you do at home so why work in a substandard office?” Groundbreaking on the second of the three buildings has already begun and should be complete around mid-December. Construction of the third is scheduled for spring of next year. White has planned three individual buildings in the development so he will be able to bequeath to each of his children their own piece of property. All of the buildings will have three suites of offices. White and White Attorneys at Law will occupy one of the suites in the first building. It will also be the new home of Tennessee Production Center, who is an affiliate of Big Mama’s Karaoke Cafe. Cinergy Communications, based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, will open a sales office in the third space.
