Ownby receives certificate from LSU

Jackie Leon Ownby, Jr., Assistant Vice President of Tennessee State Bank in Sevierville is among the 167 bankers receiving graduation certificates on June 6th from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. This three-year program provides courses covering all aspects of banking, economics and related subjects. Sponsored by 15 southern state bankers associations in cooperation with the Division of Continuing Education at LSU, the banking school requires attendance on campus for three years, with extensive bank study assignments between sessions. The faculty consists of bankers, business and professional leaders, and educators from all parts of the U.S. During their three years at the Graduate School of Banking, students receive 180 hours of classroom instruction, thirty hours of reviews, planned evening study, and written final examinations at the end of each session. Mr. Ownby’s office is located at 161 Forks of the River Parkway in Sevierville where he is a loan officer. He has been a staff member of Tennessee State Bank for 11 years. “Everyone at Tennessee State Bank is proud of Jackie for his commitment to better serve our customers and expand his banking knowledge,” says Todd Proffitt, President and CEO of Tennessee State Bank. In addition, Mr. Ownby serves as Board of Director and Immediate Past President of the Sevierville Kiwanis Club, Board of Director of Young Bankers of Tennessee Bankers Association, and Director and Allocations Chairman of United Way of Sevier County. He is also a graduate of Sevier County Leadership Tomorrow, a graduate of the Southeastern Schools of Banking and Consumer Credit, received diplomas from the American Banker’s Association in General Banking, Consumer Credit, and Commercial Lending.
