Two Seymour Intermediate School cafeteria workers have decided to work together on a new venture: house cleaning. Debbie Ruttencutter and Kathy Jones who have worked at the school for the last few years aren’t replacing their regular job quite yet. “We are working to get it up and going,” said Ruttencutter. “It’s something we wanted to do, it’s a personal thing. We do hope someday to be able to do it full-time. I think this will pick up and catch on and make it work. It’s a personal goal for both of us.” The two Seymour women laughed when they said, “We’ve been doing this for years. We are both moms. So now we are going to do it and make a business out of it,” said Ruttencutter. “This past week we did an estimate for someone who is selling his house, we pasted cards out at real estate offices so we can go in and clean homes before they are put on the market. He was a bachelor and it was clean, but it needed a woman’s touch. “We will be doing personal house cleaning, new construction, and real estate.” According to Ruttencutter, “Our rates are good. We are a little less than the going rate.” Their families are happy before, “If we start our day out early we can be home in the afternoon when our teenagers are home.” They named the business Mountain Fresh Cleaning Services because Ruttencutter’s husband Alan thought it worked well with the area and of course it has the “fresh” for cleaning. Jones stated, “I’m looking forward to working on the business because I’d like to make it a permanent job and I think we can do it. Having your own business lets us do other things with our day like spending more time with our family and raising our kids. For more information on Mountain Fresh Cleaning Services you can call Debbie or Kathy at 429-4463.
