In addition to celebrating its 30th anniversary, Citizens National Bank announced reaching another milestone, topping $400 million in assets. Ending 2002, deposits reached $320 million, loans totaled $268 million and equity capital was $36 million. In 1973, CNB began serving Sevier County with $1.25 million in capital and six employees. The bank’s first office was located at 801 Dolly Parton Parkway, which still serves as one of CNB’s branches. To date, CNB has 165 employees and a total of 11 branches and 36 ATMs have been opened in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Kodak, Gatlinburg and Seymour.  “The growth and success of Citizens National Bank has been achieved through our commitment to stay a locally owned and operated bank,” said Bill Carroll, CNB’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “In addition, we have stayed focused on our dedication to customer service and community involvement.”  During the year 2002, CNB continued serving the community by expanding its products and services. This included opening a 4th in-store branch in the new Sevierville Kroger store and upgrading the Expressline phone banking and Internet banking products. Since opening its doors, CNB has provided innovative banking to the community. It was the first bank in the state of Tennessee to provide state-of-the-art check image statements. CNB also carved out a market niche by introducing supermarket banking to the area by opening the Wal-Mart Supercenter branch in Sevierville, as well as locations inside the Kroger stores in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Seymour. This one-stop shopping provides customers the convenience of extended hours and Saturday banking.
