Robert A. Tino, a well-known local artist and businessman, has joined the Tennessee State Bank Board of Directors. Todd Proffitt, President and CEO of Tennessee State Bank made the announcement to bank staff following Tino’s acceptance of the nomination. “I am very honored and excited about having the privilege of serving on the Board of Tennessee State Bank,” says Tino. “I have been very impressed with the strength and performance of the bank as well as the determination to make TSB a great place to work for each employee. TSB is also very involved in community concerns and local charities for the betterment of our area.” Mr. Tino is a native Tennessean, born in Bristol. He moved to Sevierville in 1977. He is a graduate of Sevier County High School and the University of Tennessee, where he received a degree in Political Science and Business Administration. He began his professional career as an artist while attending U.T. He opened his first gallery in Sevierville in 1984 and the second gallery opened in Highlands, N.C. in 1999. Mr. Tino is well known for his art of the local scenery. Tino places customer service a priority in the success of his business, as well as the banks, by saying, “In my opinion as a business person, customer service cannot be second best. The first thing that struck me was the concern for treating each TSB customer like an important individual instead of a bank account.” Mr. Tino is very active in the community. He is a member of the Sevierville Rotary Club, a Sevierville Teenboard Advisor, a Charter Member of the Friends of the Smokies, and a member of the Committee for the Future of Childrens Hospital. He is well known for donating his time and talent for numerous organizations. Mr. Tino and his wife, Mary John, have two children, Riley and Chloe Beth. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Sevierville. “I am excited to have Robert as part of our team,” says Proffitt. “His experience in the area with business and community organizations makes him a great asset to Tennessee State Bank.” Mr. Tino joins the Board of Directors as the ninth member. Other Directors include Todd Proffitt, Brownlee Reagan, Alfred Newman, Pershing McCarter, Johnny King, Travis McCroskey, Mitch McCarter and Chuck Frost. Tennessee State Bank has an asset size of over $420 million with 10 branches located in Sevier and Knox County. They have been in operation for over 30 years and are a locally owned community bank. “Again I am honored and hope to be able to add to what makes TSB an excellent banking institution,” add Tino.
