Flying Farkle’s food and fun

Where in the world can you get an “Annoying Tourist Sub,” baked slow – like they drive? Or perhaps you’re in the mood for the famous P.M.S. Sub, to “quiet the most finicky whiner,” as was featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Your tastes might run toward a “Parkway Pileup” sandwich, piled high with seven toppings and provolone cheeses. No matter what your stomach is in the mood for, it will agree with your brain that the place to be for food and fun in Pigeon Forge is Flying Farkle’s Wings ‘n Things. Terry Tarantella, co-owner with her husband of the fabulous Italian restaurant with the funny name, hails from Ohio with an eye for the amusing and bizarre and a talent for mixing up hot and spicy food for the hip crowd in Pigeon Forge. The word is out on the street that Terrys makes the best slice you’ve had in these parts, and together with her cohort in culinary crime Amanda Thomas, they are sure to please your palate with a tempting array of hearty staples. The ambiance at Farkle’s will have you laughing around the mouthfuls of delicious food you’re sure to be shoveling in. Decorating the walls of the dining room are an outrageous collection of signs, posters, and paraphernalia designed to tickle the funny bone and keep you entertained while you tear into the mounds of mouth-watering fare constantly moving from the kitchen. There’s something on the menu for everyone here, including vegetarian subs and pizza, the meat lover in the family, and those who are watching their waistline. The real treat here is for the hearty appetite, though, as the portions are very generous and the prices more than reasonable. All of Farkle’s pizzas come with up to seven toppings at no extra charge. Despite this, a jumbo 16-inch pie will set you back only $14.99, and their 7-inch mini, perfect for lunchtime, is only $4.99. The Fabulous Family Feast weighs in at $24.99, and included a large pizza with seven toppings, one of their 11 oven-baked subs, and a dozen Farkle’s Flappers hot wings with sauce, a pizza salad with up to seven toppings and dressing of choice, and two liters of refreshing Coke or Pepsi soft drink products. It all adds up to a tremendous saving for the hungry horde, and you’re advised to pony up pronto before Terry and her crew realize they’re giving away the farm on this sweet deal. Top this off with “Same Day Delivery – Guaranteed!” and you’ll see why Flying Farkle’s is the place to be to sate your craving for a feast and still leave your wallet with a piece. Flying Farkle’s is located at 2534 McGill Street in Ogle’s Mall in Pigeon Forge, and they can be reached at (865) 774-2929. They’re open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 12 midnite.
