As a testament to local educational prowess, The Seymour High School Academic Decathlon team placed fourth in the state competition held in Clarksville, TN on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
Seymour placed fourth overall behind perennial winner Madison Academic Magnet School, with Obion County Central High in second and Haywood High School taking third place.
Medals were awarded in each individual event.
Sophomore David McConnell a Copper medal in Music, Sophomore Jeran Cantor won a Copper Medal in Art, Sophomore Hannah McFalls won a Copper medal in Math, and Senior Ka’la Dorst won the Senior Scholarship.
