The community blood donation held at Seymour High School in the gymnasium March 12 was largely student driven according to Medic Regional Blood Center workers and volunteer staffers.

“We’ve been very busy,” said SHS Special Education Teacher and blood drive volunteer Becky Vick. “It has been mostly students who have donated today.”

Vick said she volunteered her time to the drive because she has donated since the age of 18 and her mother worked for Medic.

“It’s a good cause and a great way to help your community,” she said.
