The suspect in the fatal Chapman Hwy. crash that killed a local youth pastor and a Seymour teenager late last summer, has been charged with a drug related robbery that occurred two days before the accident.

Tyler James Schaeffer, 21, was charged with 36 counts by a grand jury in the Sevier County Criminal Court last November.  Of those counts, a DUI charge was included because authorities believed Schaeffer was high on methylone, a synthetic drug, when the accident occurred Sept. 16.

The accident resulted in the felonious and reckless killing of Cedar Grove Baptist Church Youth Pastor Jeffery K. Trussell, 45, and Courtney J. Kaliszewski, 16.
