A Seymour resident was arrested by a member of the Pigeon Forge Police Department for operating a meth lab Feb. 26.

According to the arrest warrant, Shawn Christopher Wills, 33, of Seymour, was manufacturing methamphetamine in Room 201 of Pin Oak Parkway Inn.

PFPD Corporal Russell Parker was alerted to the situation by residents who may or may not have been staying at the motel.

Sevier County Drug Unit Captain Randy Parton said generally meth manufacturers will work out of a motel room some distance from their home to attempt to avoid the danger of possible explosions, fire, and chemical burns.
