The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department held a public community forum in the auditorium of Seymour High School Feb. 26.

To an audience of about a combined 25 community and SVFD members, SVFD Chief Kevin Nunn led a presentation which focused on education and local data.

Nunn explained the SVFD coverage is 96 square miles, which is five more than the City of Knoxville’s Fire Department covers.

“On average we get about five to six calls a day,” he said. “Pigeon Forge gets four. Our volunteer department is taking more calls than a career department.”
