The Seymour Eagle basketball season has come to an end.  Much like the entire season, so many games were like this one as the Eagles (17-12) lost to the South-Doyle Cherokees 78-77 in double overtime in yet another thriller as Seymour hosted their first District 2-AAA tournament.

With just 4 seconds left in the game, the Eagles held a one point advantage and it looked as though they had the win.  Only five seconds remained on the clock when Ethan Parks hit Peyton Lee under the basket for an easy layup giving the Eagles a 77-76 lead.

The Cherokees (7-20 overall) threw the ball into super athlete Jocquey Bruce who was fouled bringing the ball up the floor.  With three seconds to go, Bruce stepped to the line and knocked down both free throws to win the game for the Cherokees.  He had missed six of his previous 10 free throw attempts during the game.
