A special Mardi Gras Pancake dinner was held at a local church to collect donations for a Seymour charity Feb. 12.
Eusebia Presbyterian Church, located at 1701 Burnett Station Rd., housed a free traditional community dinner celebration in order to raise money for C.R.O.S.S Ministers, Christians Reaching Out Serving Seymour.
“Traditionally, people would use up all their lard, oils, meats, and such before Lent and eat very simple meals as a means of sacrifice,” explained Event Organizer Tim Crafford. “Pancakes were one way to do that for us.”
