The dismal economic situation of both Seymour and South Knox can be both felt and seen by most everyone who lives or works in the areas.

There has been little to no employment gains as manufacturing, tourism, and agriculture industries are still in declination continuing into 2013.

According to the recent release of the 2013 Book of Lists, Sevier County’s largest locally based and owned employer with the highest amount of full time positions is Charles Blalock & Sons who provides 590 full time positions to local residents.
