In an uncontested election, the GOP approved the slate of officers and executive committee members and selected a new local chairman.
The Sevier County Republican Party has elected Devin J. Koester to sever a two-year term as Chairman Jan. 22.
“This is a great honor for me,” Koester told the members following the unanimous vote in favor of his election. “I feel like I’m going to try to fill some size twenty-two shoes. I know I can count on all of you to help me continue Sonny’s (Coane) work to strengthen the Party.”
The election of Chairman Koester marks the first time in recent history that an active office holder has taken the reigns of the Sevier County Republicans.
