The abandoned dog cowers as it was first approached. (The Herald/ Joe King)

A brown hound mix dog was discovered tied by a short rope to a large shrub behind the Seymour Business Park Jan. 28.

Although the dog was discovered during the early hours of that Monday morning, it is estimated the animal had been abandon as much as two days prior.
