1. Church Purchases News
It has been confirmed by the Office of the Knoxville Register of Deeds that the land parcel housing the old Tri-County News building was purchased by Valley Grove Church in May of 2012.
Officials at the Deed office said the land was purchased for $100,000.
Barbara Maples of Valley Grove Church said there is not a set plan for the land usage, but rather the parcel was purchased as a protective measure against something else from opening in that location that could hinder the church’s mission.
Tri-County News was located at 9,010 Chapman Hwy.
